The PRIME STAR Racing team has been in the making for many years and PSR Team owner Steve Austin sat down with us to discuss his life, dreams, and story in achieving a dream plus the teams plans for the 2024 season and more!

Steve makes no bones in addressing some of the struggles, numerous rumors, and stories he’s faced during his younger years.

While he finds it difficult to talk about, he finds it necessary to set the record straight. He freely admits there has been setbacks along the way where several people often want to bring up his blemished background, some of his own doing years ago and much of it as a result of being victim of identity theft which lead to many false stories and narratives being spread online but what many people aren’t aware of is his devotion to helping others.

Steve states that while he lost many friends over the years that he’s been blessed to maintain those who chose to stand by him when it wasn’t popular to do so. Steve can often be found volunteering his time mentoring disadvantaged kids, raising donations for such charities as Backpacks of love & St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and often spending time with senior citizens.

The difference in then and now is amazing according to Austin, he states that while he regrets some of the things in his past however it’s what shapes him into who he is today. Austin has managed to live his dream over the years with stints in several forms of racing in national touring series both as a driver and owner, forming successful business ventures such as PRIME STAR Carolina Custom Cottages & now PRIME STAR Racing.

Fast forward to today & the future his focus is on both of his new businesses, while still maintaining the desire to race himself he states that he’s at a point in his life to where he can be content living his dream through someone else’s eyes.

PRIME STAR Racing has created a business model that would not only allow Austin to continue driving on his own terms but also provide others with an opportunity to chase their dreams without having to jump through some of the same hoops that he had to and most importantly without breaking the bank.

“We all know that today’s world of racing is all about money and what a driver can bring to the table.” Austin says.

His desire is to provide opportunities to those who seek rides in good, safe equipment at an affordable price point. “A driver shouldn’t have to mortgage their future or their parents’ lifestyle in order to demonstrate their talents.” said Austin

PRIME STAR Racing has been able to acquire quality equipment and leverage an amazing relationship with Mark Noble and his awesome team MAN Motorsports by forming an alliance.

“When PRIME STAR Racing originally announced our formation Mark was the first one to step up to the plate to offer his support, unfortunately soon after we had a co owner in the team want to sell the assets out from under me.”

Austin said that he was about ready to give up when several people reached out begging him to keep forging forward, Austin admits it was all but over at that point but then he got another telephone call from Mark Noble asking what he could do to help out. I pressed for more details, but Austin would only state that “Mark & MAN Motorsports is the only reason that PRIME STAR Racing is here today.”

While the team had hoped to compete this year, their primary focus is on acquiring drivers for the 2024 Arca Menards National & East Series.

In getting to know Steve Austin, one thing that stands out other than his desire and determination to prove people wrong is that he is very adamant about being transparent with the teams rental program pricing.

In fact, he states that he believes that every team should do the same. He says make it easy for drivers to do their homework and make a viable decision on their future.

Another amazing thing about Austin is that people don’t realize how many teams that he’s landed sponsorship for as well as referred drivers to other programs, his mantra is that being selfish in this sport helps no one and harms everyone in the long run.

It’s also worth noting that Austin is a long-time friend & supporter of our RRN founder, Chris Ausburn.

In closing Austin wanted to mention that thanks to people like Mark Noble, Mark Gehrett of Dry Ice Blasting, Dane Laster, Backpacks of Love and his company PRIME STAR Carolina Custom Cottages that the future looks very bright for PSR.

He also states that he will also be competing in the Carolina Pro Late Model series with Tamayo Consentino Racing and wanted to express his gratitude to Enrique Tamayo & Tony Consentino for their willingness to make him part of their great team.
